My Community

The Goth/Industrial scene is full of goths and industrialists. We all come together to listen to music, dance, stomp, or just to talk. We all dress "strange" or "unusual". Wearing mostly black clothes, fishnets, shredded/burned material and boots. To be part of the scene you need to dress at least in all black if your wearing basic clothes and just show up to an event that happens regularly. Being in the scene means a lot to me because for me, I feel accepted. My beliefs are pretty dark and strange to most outsiders, but there its normal. No one looks at you like your some weirdo, no one gives you a disgusted look and no one judges you for just being you. And to not be judged is an amazing feeling because for a goth, a homeless youth, and an artist, I truely feel accepted.

Tough Skin

I was born in downtown San Bernardino, CA. Since that time I have been in countless "neighborhoods". The hardships I have encountered in some of the cities were at times very brutal. I take a lot of the knowledge I have today from Yucaipa CA, San Bernardino CA, Colton CA, Stanely NC, and Licontan SC. With all the struggles and with all the tears that I have spilt and with all the times I wish i could go back and avoid these events and these places, I would never do so because without them I wouldn't have developed a tough skin. I have developed a tolerance to hardships in life. It only takes me a matter of days to get over tragic circumstances.

Reflections on The Poverty Business

Ever since the creation of credit, we as credit holders have been getting ourselves into trouble. An example here would be the Great Depression. Many Americans abused their credit to the point that there was a major crash in the stock market. Now there are many interpretations of the Great depression and some are still argued over today. But in this reading I found that we are not learning from our history. Yes there are many corporations taking advantage of the fact that we are going to over indulge on products that are not necessary then when we find ourselves in the hole we find there are many more companies that make profit off of our short comings by charging us higher percentages on loans because our credit is disastrous.

A Bio About Me

I was born in San Bernardino, CA. I lived in So Cal for many years, moving from town to town. I was in the special education classes until I was in high school. Now that I look back, the only needs I had were ADHD and was dyslexia which I am still currently battling. By my senior year in high school all I was taking were 3 classes so by my second semester I enrolled into Freshman English and freshman Math at Crafton Hills College. I attended the school for 2 years trying to figure out exactly what I wanted the rest of my life to be. Then one day I just dropped everything and left to North Carolina. From there I backpacked to the surrounding states and back this way until I ended up in San Francisco and at the Year Up program.

Particle Faster Than Light?

"Scientists at the world's largest physics lab said Thursday they have clocked neutrinos traveling faster than light."This event has scientists from all over buzzing, some skeptical and others just in awe. If the conclusion they made that this "oddball subatomic particle " can actually be faster then light then it will change some of the foundations of the science community and will also prove Albert Einsteins 1905 theory of relativity equation ( E (equals) mc2)  to be false.
The European Organization for Nuclear Research or CERN, have observed neutrinos "smashing past the cosmic speed barrier of 186,282 miles per second".CERN fired a neutrino beam from a particle accelerator near Geneve to a lab 454 miles away in Italy and found that they traveled 60 nanoseconds faster then the speed of light.
CERN is allowing the scientific community to research and explore there findings and see if they are fact true. If in fact these findings are found to be true, it will shape the future of not only science but also life in general.
